Quin-Sea Fisheries on Monday announced it acquired a new facility it will use as a leaping off point for an expansion of its Newfoundland lobster operations.

The Royal Greenland-owned company acquired Woodman's crab facility in New Harbour, Newfoundland, and will make "significant investment" in the site, including operating a live holding facility for lobster. The facility will also serve as a cold storage for existing Quin-Sea operations.

Part of the company's "lobster strategy" is to develop the Newfoundland lobster brand, the company said.
