RUTH - DENMARK
June 22, Denmark. A floating drydock at the Aarhus Shipyard has sunk with the 62 metre trawler Ruth aboard as the ship may have proved too heavy for the dock bottom. A report states that several keel blocks penetrated the dock bottom and pumps could not keep up with the water ingress. The dock sank slowly and Ruth - one of the largest fishing vessels in the Danish fleet - then capsized in the dock. The dock became fully submerged and workers jumped into the water to escape.
