The 12-litre, inline, turbocharged diesel engine replaces the DSI11 and offers a larger (11.7 litre) displacement than its predecessor while still being 123 mm shorter and up to 116 mm lower. It weighs 1150 kg, measures 1341 long and is no more than 999 mm high when equipped with the optional low profile oil sump.
