IN RESPONSE to increased landings of cheaper Japanese mackerel the Norwegian mackerel fishermen have lowered their minimum price, and this has made it possible for the traders to lower their prices. Since the beginning of the season, export prices for large round frozen mackerel have come down by as much as 30%. Prices for smaller sizes have been more stable.
