THE TILAPIA industry may soon get another powerful player. According to reports in the media, Norway's PanFish, the largest salmon producer in the world, may invest in tilapia production. The company's CEO, Atle Eide, recently commented that while PanFish will not expand its salmon farming operations in the northern hemisphere, the company will get into other species such as tilapia.
